Hello All!!!

Hello all :) I sure love you!

 

Well well well. things are going pretty dang good :) I am a happy girl. Thanks for the package mom :) I love you. Grandpas note made me cry, and I about died with Huey's cute little book he made. I had a dream about him last night. Give him a hug for me :)

 

This week we had tons of meetings, one on tues, weds we had interviews, thursday we had district meeting, and friday we had one about internent procelyting. soooo we were real busy.

 

Interviews were good. I love President Cusick :)

 

Um this week was good :) Oh man! I just got the best email from Shannon :) She is doing SO SO SO SO SO SO SO good. I love her. It made me so happy to see how good she's doing.

 

One thing we do every night before prayer while we are planning is to talk about things we were grateful for that day. Man I always have like 20 things even tho it's just supposed to be one. I see more and more how blessed I am each day. Heavenly Father loves us so much. I have no time once again. I'm so sorry.

 

Yesterday was awesome- we found one of the guys we talked to last week . As soon as he saw us, he motioned for us to come over and said "I don't know why, but ever since I saw you girls and you prayed with me, everything has been going SO much better. Things have been different. Can I have one of those books (Book of Mormon)?" It was so neat!! I was so happy that he recognized the Spirit and that he wants to learn more. We are going back to see him this weekend to teach him, then planning to hand him to the missionaries where he lives. Heavenly Father is guiding us to people, I'm loving this area. It's so different, but it's helping me to stretch lots more. I kinda love it even though it's hard :)

Oh Hey, from Tampa Bay!!!

Well hello!!!

 

So, this week was CRAYYYYYY.

I'm with Sister Bush (a total sweetheart from Logan, she's short... she makes me feel tall- its great) and we opened a new area... it's called "Tampa Metro". Basically, as far as we know we are basically contacting missionaries. We (us and the elders) are downtown 90% of the time. Just talkin to everyone. Crazy right? I had been praying to be better at contacting and having courage to open my mouth more and... here we go, Heavenly Father's giving me the opportunity :)

There's a college campus (UT) right close to us, so that's pretty great/ kinda wierd bein on a campus again. but it's cool- we've met lotsa nice people!!

Heavenly Father is putting us in the right places at the right times to find His children. It's super neat to see.

 

Leaving Odessa was probably the hardest thing I've ever done. This area is so different. We're still in the same Stake- so that's comforting :) I'm feelin a little "Odessa-Sick"-Homesick for Odessa. But I know I'm here for a reason, and this is where God want's me to be. It's just hard, change is always hard for me :) It'll be good though!! I'm excited to think of cool ways to talk to people... if ya'll have any rad ideas to do on campus or downtown, lemme know!

 

We had MLC this week, it was really good. I love President. We gotta go to the beach again :) it was great.

Our zone got combined, so now we have 6 other sister- companinships instead of 3 like last transfer. Sooooo we be goin on lots more exchanges, which will be great! I love learning from other sisters and getting to know them better.

 

ohhhhhh GUESS WHAT?!?1 I be on Facebook soon... crazy huh?!?! I've gotta set my page up and all that still. But I will let ya know :)

 

Well well well. I know God lives. I know He loves us, that He is very aware of  us and our daily lives. I know His Son, Jesus Christ is our Savior. That He is the only way back home. I know this is His work, and that it's hastening. Big things are happening and miracles are around the corner I know it, all we gotta do is be obedient and open our mouths to EVERYONE about the Gospel.

Hey Ya'll

Well Hello hello :)

What's goin on?! 

This week was SO great!!

Shannon got baptized on Saturday and confirmed yesterday, she is the happiest ever!! At her baptism she kept crying and said "I'm so happy that I just cant stop crying" :) she's so sweet, and so ready to be an active member!! She's such a good missionary too- it blows my mind. She gives us a referral like every time we go see her. She's the best.  

Ummm... they're shipping me out tomorrow :( Yup, my time in Odessa has finally come to an end. Almost half my mission will be serving here- I'm one blessed girl. They told us on Saturday that both Sis Yu and I are getting transferred. Sis Goodman is staying here and training (no surprise there, she's gonna be such a good trainer) President does transfers different than President Summerhays... so all we know is that we're leaving... we dont know where to or who with. We all go to a big transfer meeting together and then they tell us. Crazy huh?! 

So this weekend has been a little bit emotional... but thats okay :). I've got lots of the hard goodbyes tonight, (like Shawna and the Hunts) so that'll be just great....we all know how much i love goodbyes :) It'll be good though. I'm excited to see where Heavenly Father wants me to be next!

I'm excited for this week! Change is good for us, right? :) that's how we grow and learn and progress!! There's definitely a piece of my heart here though. It's gonna be hard to leave... (you were right dad, leaving areas IS harder than leaving home). But it'll be good :) I feel really good about it!

Yu!

Sister Yu is here!! We are in a trio, and I am so happy. She is the happiest, sweetest, most SINCERE person I have ever met in my whole life- seriously. She's so dang cute. She is from HONG KONG!!! Dope, huh? She is so great. 

Wanna here her story? It makes me cry every time she tells it. She met missionaries at the park five years ago, she said her and her momma talked to em cause they "looked so american but spoke such good chineese." Anyway, both her and her mom got baptized. Her mom passed away last year from cancer. Her mom LOVED missionaries, so she decided to come on a mission for her momma :)  Her dad, sister and brother are not members, and told her coming on a mission would be a waste of time, and arent very supportive (they don't even write her very much :( ) She is stellar. Like seriously. She's taught me SOOO much it's insane. I love her. If you send me a package this week mom with my curling iron... you should send her stuff too, that'd mean alot to her :) 

So she's the best. So's sister goodman. i sure love her too. Heavenly Father's always putting us with the people we need, isn't He? it's the best. 

Shannon's one of those too. She's so cute. She's gettin baptized on Saturday!!!! YAY YAY YAY!!! she cant stop talking about getting the Holy Ghost. She's still OBSESSED with Nephi- she talks about him constantly it's quite great. I love her. Yesterday she asked When do i getta calling?!?! ha she's so eager to serve- its great.

We FINALLY saw Tshanda yesterday!!! It's been AGES... My heart like sang when i saw her. Seriously I dont think I've ever been that happy in my life. it was so good to see her. She should be at church sunday. 

Can we talk about the Book of Mormon? Okay. I'm obsessed. Seriously. Honestly, scripture study wasnt ever my fave before coming out here. I COULD STUDY ALL DAY LONG. I loooooovvvvvvvveee the book of mormon!!!! I learn something new everytime i read it.

Repentance is the best thing. Heavenly Father has given us weeknesses to help us learn and progress, sometimes i forget that and get discourged. WE CANT!!! that's why we're here- to learn and grow and to do our best to become like the Savior. He doesn't expect us to be perfect yet. He's there to pick us up when we fall, we just have to be humble enough to take His hand. I love Him.

Transfer calls are on Saturday... It sounds like their makin lotsa cray changes... Zones are moving and all sorts of stuff, so we will see. I kinda feel like my time here in Odessa (8 months-yikes) is wrapping up, which makes me real sad, but I'll go wherever He sends me and love it just as much I'm sure :) we'll find out soon!!

Surprise week!!

Surprise #1

WE WENT TO THE BEACH FOR MLC!!! (our leadership meeting) Holla :) :) It was SOOO stinking cool!!!! So pretty. 

Surprise #2

We're getting a new companion on wednesday... in the middle of the transfer!! AHHH!!! She's serving in the temple square mission, but they getta go out on a proselyting mission for 4 months, and we are getting her :) should be fun!! 

Surprise #3

Shannon got a new job and gotta come to church this Sunday. shes the best. Wanna hear some of my favorite quotes from her? "I love me some Nephi" (She's obsessed w/ Nephi)  "The Holy Ghost told me". She's the best.... Soooooo different than when we first met her. All i can say is the GOSPEL is LIGHT, it's happiness. I love it. 

Mom, dad, family, friends, everyone, send me pictures, I love pictures... :) 

Things are goin so so so good. I'm happy as ever. Wanna know somethin i learned this week? We cant ask for temptations or trials to GO AWAY (duh, you'd think I'd know that) You haveta ask for STRENGTH to overcome them. Missions are hard- this is definitely the hardest thing I've done BUT when I rely on the Lord, it's easy :) I just forget to do that sometimes. He helps us through all things. :)

How is everyone?!?! I hope well :):) 

Wasn't conference just so so great?! I love it. Really makes me want to work harder and be better. What a blessing for us to have prophets!! :)

Things are going really really well!!! Shannon is so stellar. She is EATING UP the lessons. The more we teach her, the more I love her. She's got a heart of gold. She got a new job this week and guess what that means?!?! SHE DOESNT WORK SUNDAYS ANYMORE!!!! She can come to church!!!! :):) Sooooo, basically I'm suppa excited bout that!!! 

We got to watch conference with Shawna at the Mahe's last night- that was super great!! She really liked it! I love her.

We getta go to a meeting on Friday in Sarasota... AND WE GETTA WEAR PANTS... I'm real excited!! :) hahaha I miss those things.

hahahahaha Sis Goodman and I about DIED laughing.... We wave to everyone (we have competitions to see who get waved back to most). So we thought it was pretty funny!!! ha 

OH BOY wanna hear a tender mercy?!?! This week we went on exchanges and I was in Tampa 4 with Sis Behr... in their gym they have like a little dance studio thing with mirrors and all... I almost cried. It was great.

I LOVE THIS GOSPEL. It is so true. My testimony feels quite small, but it is growing everyday. I know God lives, He loves us so very much, more than we can comprehend. He answers prayers. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to save us. He's saves me everyday. Because of Him, we can change... I see it everyday in the people we're teaching and in myself too, little by little. He knows our hearts, our weekness, and our desires, and He wants to help us! I know that His gospel is here on this earth. That it was restored through a Prophet, Joseph Smith. THE BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE. Whenever I feel a little spec of doubt, I always turn back to that. I know with all my heart that that book is true- it's changing me. I love it. I know that the Priesthood is the Power of our Heavenly Father, how grateful I am for it! I know that we can be with our families forever.... LUCKY ME!!! I know that keeping the commandments is the ONLY way to be happy.

No Time

so sorry... we have seriously NO time.

This week was really good... We had an AWESOME ward Fireside last night all about missionary work, President and Sis. Cusick came, it was stellar. I am SO blessed to be serving here... This ward is teaching me SO much. 

Zone Conference this week w/ Elder Tahe from the Seventy, he told us last month when he came to Stake Conference that he was going to "Turn our world upside down"... So... we are excited to see what he has to share with us!! :)

Shannon is getting baptized next month! So excited, she's great!!! She came to a baptism on Saturday and LOVED it. Still teaching Shawna, She's such a sweetheart, I love her. 

One thing I learned this week: Being obedient makes us HAPPY- we are soooo much happier when we are doing what we're supposed to  (Mosiah 2:41)

GUESS WHAT?!?!

I'M STAYING IN ODESSA FOR SIX MORE WEEKS!!! :):):):)

That means by the end of this transfer I will have been here for HALF OF MY MISSION... That's right!! :) and I'll be with Sister Goodman for a third of it!! :) We're pretty stoked to be stayin together... we get along so good. 

President called us on Saturday and asked us to be Sister Training Leaders- so basically we go to a big leadership meeting with Pres and go on exchanges with the Sisters in our Zone-We are excited, we'll learn alot, should be great! :)

 Shawna is still doing awesome! We are hoping to set a date with her this week for her baptism... She's SO ready! Her bf came to church yesterday- and he hasnt been in a real long time, so that was great :) She is so cute- she tell's everybody she's Mormon and when they try to tell her she's making a bad choice she bears her testimony, tells them to look at mormon.org, and asks if they want missionaries to come teach them more... SHE IS PERFECT. I love her so much.

Shannon committed to baptism and we are going to set a date with her tonight! Thatll be great. 

I went on exchanges this week- Zepherhills has gotta be the prettiest place in the world. It's SO pretty there. I was w/ Sis. Costanio... she's from Rexburg, small world :) It was fun.

Things are going really good, I am very grateful to be staying here another transfer :) I love it here, i love what I'm learning, I love the people and I love my Heavenly Father! :)

Ohhhh Heyyyyyy!!!‏

Well Hello Hello!!!

How are ya'll?!?! Probably suppa tired and worn out from what sounds like a super BUSY fair week!! YIKES! Hope you had fun!!! Tell Katie I was dreaming about the chocolate dipped cheesecake ALL week, and that we'll haveta get DOUBLE next year ;) Speaking of...I just wrote her a letter! She's the best! 

Well well well. Not much new over here in the FL. Shawna is still so great-she's so good. She's teaching me alot :) I feel like she's teachin me WAY more than I'm teachin her. I love her. Best friend status. 

We are teaching a girl named Tiffany- she's super wonderful. She's SUPER funny- cute and sassy. Her hubby is a youth pastor at their church but she's SUPER interested. She's reading the Book of Mormon and she's got a bajillion questions. She's already got SOOO much faith- you can see it in her eyes, she's great. 

We got a media referral this week for someone who lives in our apartment complex. it was a mom wanting us to go see her daughter who was going through a lot of hard times. We went and saw Shannon on Friday. She is going through lottttts of hard stuff :( we got to testify to her of the Savior, of His love for her and how He can help her through all these things. We get to see her again tonight- excited to help her come closer to Christ and be happier :)

The longer I'm out here, the more I realize how the Gospel solves all of the issues of the world. Keeping the commandments REALLY DOES keep us safe and happy. Being humble and relying on the Savior is actually WAY easier than trying to do things on our own. I love Heavenly Father for giving us these things to keep us happy and safe- He sure loves us alot... I feel that everyday.

Transfer Calls are this Saturday... I am definitely a canidate for leaving Odessa... which makes me wanna cry when i think about it... Sooo... I'm gonna quit talking about it! We will see :) I'll go wherever God wants me to be! :)

We had Elder Tahe (I dunno how to spell his name) of the seventy come to our stake conference this past weekend, that was pretty neat! He is coming back in a couple weeks to have a conference with us! Super exciting!!

Well I have absolutley no time and to tell you the truth this week went by SO fast I dont even remember what happened... The weeks are starting to FLY. 

We had an awesome lesson with Sue- she reminds me of Grandma Jocko... has pretty blue eyes and short hair just like her!! She's been readin the Book of Mormon!

We are going shopping with Shawna today- she is like seriously the best. She would fit right in w/ all of my friends back home. I LOVE HER!!! I know we'll be friends forever and ever... we talk about it all the time. She is just so GOOD- like so good. She is SOOO obedient to the commandments, always makes sure she's doing what's right. Someone offered her a drink and she said no they asked why not, cause you're mormon now and she said "YUP! :)" She's so good. I love her

he ward is continuing to get excited about missionary work! They are telling us their experiences, and are really interested in our investigators. The Jolley family is doing SO great with their Family Mission Plan. Sister Jolley's friend has come to church four times and Sister Jolley has invited her to meet with us THREE times.... She's not giving up! :) Brother Jolley took a Restoration pamphlet and a Book of Mormon to a guy he works with and is going to talk with him more about it this week. They are really really "Catching the Wave." We hope to get the whole ward as excited about missionary work as them! :)

Miracle of the week! We met a man named Robert on our bikes on Saturday afternoon. We invited him to come to church on Sunday. He came, and he even bore his testimony! He is excited to learn more!

We are seeing the blessings of talking with everyone. Heavenly Father is placing people in our path. He is giving me courage to talk to them about the gospel (which is a miracle in and of itself :))

This week was good- all the weeks are good :) However... I am craving a Bimbo Burger right about now.... Express mail?! sounds good to me. I love you SO SO SO SO much!!! Hope ya'll have a suppa good week.

Hello, Hello, from Florida

So, lets talk. FAMILY! You're the best!!!

Grandma J- Thanks so much for the package, just got it yesterday, I'm wearin the skirt right now. Sister Goodman and I ate all the cookies after church- we were starved thank you so much :)

Can I tell you how glum I am that I'm missin the IDAHO STATE FAIR?! Seriously though, we all know how much I love it. HAVE FUN..... Tell Trav he better be sendin me a cheeseburger pizza... YUM that sounds SO GOOD.

 

This week went by SO crazy fast. I cant even recall what happened. MIRACLES all around of course. We are trying to do way better at talking to EVERYONE we see about the gospel (I'm really bad at contacting... one of my many weaknesses- but that's why we're workin on it!) So anyways, we have been talking to EVERYONE and their dog (....literally everyone here has a dog, but that's besides the point). ANYWAYS, as we've been talking to people we are seeing MIRACLES!!! Good things are happening. We are finding LOTS of potential investigators. Its stellar. Heavenly Father is honestly just like putting wonderfully prepared people in our path. It's crazy how instantaneous He blesses us when we're obedient.

 

Shawna is still doing well. She's the cutest. She's so ready to get baptized... just gotta figure a few things out first :) I love her.

 

That's bout it. Oh, we are back on car share with the Elders... so that means...... DRUMROLL..... BIKES again!... Holla ;) Yay for a nice tan again. ha its great. I may roast alive it's SO hot lately- but it's great. I feel like a "real" missionary when we bike- more legit.

So, I love being a missionary.... It's the best thing to be. I LOVE IT!!! I am a happy girl.

THIS WEEK WAS SO STELLAR!! TSHANDA IS A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH!!!!! HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE :):):) And guess what?!?! Sister Greenwood... The cutest little english sister in the ward made a DVD of the day... I'm going to send it to ya'll so you can see it!!! :):) It's super neat!!! WHAT A HAPPY DAY!!!!! SHe's the best- and the ward is doing SO great at taking care of her. They're the best. OH MY WORD- i cant wait for you to see the video!!! :) I LOVE YOU!! 

Shawna is seriously like my best friend. I know Heavenly Father wanted me to meet her. She is such a blessing for us. We LOVE teaching her. I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!! I know that we will be friends forever and ever. She is doing SO good. She's readin her scriptures, and LOVING THEM. She LOVES CHURCH. She came to Tshanda's baptism and she LOVED IT. The opening song was my favorite... "I like to look for rainbows..." She leaned over to me and pointed to her arm... She had goosebumps and had them the WHOLE TIME!!! She is SO excited to get baptized- just gotta figure out when!! :) I love her!!!

Well, I read the best talk ever this week. It's all about losing yourself in the work... Giving the Lord all your heart, might, mind and strength. I loved it. I want to be able to say at the end of my mission that I've done that. I want to give the Lord my heart, my mind, I want to make my will His will- and to LOSE MYSELF in serving all the people here. I want Him to have my heart and my mind FOREVER- who better to give it to than the Lord?! He will make me WAY WAY better than I could ever make myself. I love Him, so I'm working on giving everything to Him.

Mon. Aug 12

SO, 

Let's talk about Monday. Monday was not only the best birthday I've had, but the best DAY I think I have ever had in my whole entire life!!

First off, The Catmull's went above and beyond for dinner. They decorated the house with balloons and streamers, jumped out yelling happy bday, got CHICKFILA, cake and candles, they are the best. I have pictures, but my camera is dead... I will send some next week I promise :)

Then, we went to Jeff and Luise's (a family we were teaching) they dropped us... It's fine. BECAUSE, we THEN had time to go see if Ta'Shanda was home... AND SHE WAS!!! Heavenly Father answered our prayer!! IT WAS THE BEST PRESENT EVER TO SEE HER and Niyah and to see that everything's okay!!! She just had lotsa family stuff going on.... SHE IS GETTING BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY!!! :):) YEE HA!!! SO SO SO SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT!!!  

THEN, we had our first lesson w/ Shawna. Shawna is engaged to a guy who is a member (Staurt) and we have the lessons at his parents house. I'm pretty sure her and I were best friends. We get along SOOO good. She's 22, super sweet and cute, and she's getting baptized too!! After church yesterday, she kept telling us all the ways she has been changing. IT WAS SO COOL!!! He fiance is less active right now, and she is trying soo soo hard to bring him back. She is the BEST. She's obsessed with the Salt lake Temple.. So i already told her she's gotta come out and visit. She is the greatest!! I LOVE HER!!!

I got sick this week... BOOO!!!! Thursday was Zone Conference... I had a mondo migrane that mornin, and I had thrown up a couple times before the meeting. Thankfully, the  Relief Society from our ward was there doing the lunch, they all took good care of me!!! Sister Shepherdson took me home (Beth's momma) and I slept for like four hours. I still had a migrane on friday and saturday and didnt eat much,, but I am feeling better now!! All is well :) Sister Goodman's taking good care of me!!!

Transfer calls are this saturday.... I'm getting kinda scared... I really don't wanna leave!! :( there's soooo much GOOD going on here!!! I hope I stay one more transfer. But it's all good, I know I'll be where Heavenly Father wants me!! :)

Hey hey hey from FLORIDA!!!‏

Well well well. Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes!! You are all the best :) I wish I could do something for YOU!! 

Few things better than having your birthday fall on a P-day;) Can I just start off by saying that Sis. Goodman is the BEST?!?! She's so cute. She made a scripture scavenger hunt for me this morning... she's the best. Other than that our plans are to go to Buffalo Wild Wings after this with all the other Elders and Sisters, than we're goin' to the church where they have some sort of "suprise"... who knows?! ha. Then, the Catmull's (the COOLEST FAMILY EVER) are having us over for dinner (I think they're gettin me chick-fil-a... they know me well;)) !! THEN- we have two DOPE appointments!!! So, it'll be a great birthday!! :) 

So, this week was pretty much Dope city. Saturday especially was the best!! We ditched out the practice for singing the national anthem at the Ray's game and decided to go to the Baptism in our ward instead. Can i tell you how happy i am that we went there instead?! It was the coolest thing. They have the coolest story too:

So the husband got baptized as a youth, but hasnt been coming to church for a while. He started coming like two and a half months ago. They have the two CUTEST little girls (they look like Kylee). Anyway, he started coming back, got the priesthood, the Elders started teaching his wife (who is the coolest) and on Saturday he got to baptize his wife!!! IT WAS THE NEATEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. After she got baptized they hugged  in the font... It was the coolest thing to see... yes i cried DUH!! Their family is going to be forever changed! SO NEAT. She was glowing like ALL day yesterday too. We (us and the elders) want to come back for their sealing. COOLEST THING EVER. I was a little jealous that the elders gotta teach her.... but it's fine :) haha. Such a happy day!!

THEN, saturday was the ray's game too!!! SOOO MUCH FUN.... I felt normal... (is that bad) haha. It was fun. Reminded of me of Ranger games:). All the other missionaries sat together in a huge group, but us and the elders sat with our AWESOME  ward. It was fun- they're like my little family for now :) the Catmull's drove us down. They're the best. They have a daughter who just went to Ecquador on her mission a couple months ago... so they take good care of us :) I love them!

Yesterday, a girl who is engaged to one of the member's came to church and we getta start teaching her tonight!! HOLLA :) we are excited about that!! Bill came to church yesterday too! And to the baptism!! He is really feeling the Spirit and he recognizes it!! (which is great cause lots of the people we're teachin dont always recognize it). Testimony meeting was awesome too- lotsa people talked about missionary work!

Friday Bishop Turnbow had asked me to speak at Brother Chris Taylor's funeral (if you remember him, he is less-active we are teaching his wife). There were lots of nonmembers their. Can I tell you how grateful it made me to know the plan of Salvation?! I KNOW with all my heart that death is not the end! In fact, it's just a step of the plan. We will get to see those we love again. Their in the Spirit World just waiting for us :) my word. The more I learn about the plan the more i realize how BLESSED we are to know it. Can you imagine NOT knowing it?! I cant. It'd be bad news bears. Sooooo... that's what I wanna teach every single person here in Florida... "Wanna be happy?!... Lemme teach you about God's plan of HAPPINESS.... IT IS THE BEST". I love the plan of Salvation. That's all.

Hey Hey!!

Hey hey hey!!! This is prolly gonna be a short email....Sorry!!!

I had lots of emails today, Good to hear from ya'll :) Sorry if I didnt get back to ya... As always, no time!! (I feel like its a theme I've been learning)

Wellllllll things are going good!! We met with the Prezioso's for the first time this week!!! She is a less active member and her husband isnt. We taught the first lesson (the Restoration) and he really felt the Spirit!! When we were leaving he told us how all day before we came he "felt in heart" peace and that we were coming to share w/ him something important!! and that he felt that feeling the when we told the Joseph Smith story.... THE SPIRIT!! Then he (Bill) came to church on Sunday even though his wife couldnt make it!!! THEN he told us he's been reading the Book of Mormon everyday... and that he feels PEACE everytime he reads!!! Golden Investigator? I think so!! He's so great!

We didnt meet with Ta'Shanda and Unique very much this week.... and they didnt come to church on SUnday :( my heart cried a bit.... but it's okay!! We will get em back there!! :) bein a missionary is stressful!!! But great! :) 

Things are going good!!! I am happy happy!!! I love you all so so so so so so much!!!! :)

462- Elder Scribner's Goodbye Party :( They're the elders who we serve with in the odessa ward!! He left on wednesday this week. He's the best, funniest guy ever. we miss him already!! 

481- This week was Unique's 19th bday, so we got her an oreo ice cream cake...and had a little party! HOLLA! It was fun :) Unique is the one on the left in pink, then little miss La'Niyah, then Ta'shanda on the right. I love them. They will be gettin baptized the 27th, it was gonna be this Saturday, but they didnt make it to church yesterday so we gotta push it back! They are the best!!! SO SO SO awesome!! I LOVE THEM!!!

479- Sister Goodman and I rollin in the Corolla... after the most awkward visit we've had thus far. hahaha I LOVE HER.

Not too much new going on here. just loving life and teaching the gospel :) 

I've been thinking alot lately how absolutely BLESSED I am to have grown up with the knowledge of the gospel... Think about it!! We know ALOT. We know what's up- we know truth. I thank Heavenly Father for this knowledge everyday- lots of people don't know what we know, and we are very blessed to know. 

So..... what do we do with that?!?! Uh... we share it :) 

That's my little missionary motivation monday :) haha. 

I love you all SO SO SO SO much!!! I know this gospel is true. That it really  is the only true church on the earth- because its Christ's church. He lives, He loves us, and He is the way back home. 

The more I study and learn it just all makes sense. I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God. I know that he restored Christ's true church to the earth. I know for a FACT that living the gospel and being obedient is the ONLY way to be happy now and in eternity. Seeing the happiness and light that comes into peoples lives is insane. Watching Ta'Shanda and Unique change has been a miracle and a blessing for me to watch. They have definitely taught me faith, and repentance- that the gospel changes our hearts.I love them.  they've taught me more about myself than I've taught them. Being a missionary is the very best choice I've ever made. 

I love you all so so so so so much and hope you have a happy happy happy week.... Go find some people for the missionaries to teach :) ha! I love you all!!!! SO MUCH!

Hello Everyone!!! 

Hope you had an AWESOME Fourth of july!!!! Ours was WAY great!! We had a pancake breakfast at the church w/ the ward. Ta'shanda and her little girl La'Niyah came! I mostly played with Niyah the whole time it was fun! We played baseball... she's suppa good! She's the cutest. Then we had weekly planning, then we went and visited with Audrey and Louie and their grandkids, then we went to dinner at the Taylors! It was great! then we met with our ward mission leader and the elders and watched fireworks. it was real fun!!!

First off, Mom- thanks SO much for the package. I'm wearing the skirt right now... Suppa Comfy thank you :) Tell mardell and Brady and the kids thanks SO much for the package they sent me... their letters made my day!! and sister Goodman and I may or may not have eaten all the oreos within 24 hours... Oooops :) I will write them all back soon :) 

WELL, can I just start off by saying how absolutley BLESSED I feel to be teaching TaShanda and Unique?! They are SO prepared by Heavenly Father, IT IS INSANE. We taught them the law of chastity one of the nights this week. The next morning Sister Scott and I go to pick them up for a baptism and they are all worried about covering up- asking me if they needta wear a shirt under their top and if this cardigan looks okay and all this stuff. IT WAS THE CUTEST THING!!! they want to be obedient SO bad. They are surely changing themselves, and they are changing me. I love them. They have a baptismal date set for the 20th!! 

I love repentance!! Isn't it just the happiest thing?! I mess up all the time, and I'm so grateful that I'm able to be forgiven by a Heavenly Father who love us SO much!!

HELLO, HELLO!!

Well hi there :) This week FLEW BY. I feel like I was just here emailing ya'll, and here we go again:) (Yes, I say ya'll ALL the time now... Holla;))

 

First off HUEY: Your email was SO cute. I love you bubba. And I miss your sweet-ness... Alot. I hope you are having a good summer!!! You seem like the same happy boy, stay that way :)

 

Momma: Your emails are the greatest. I love all the updates and input and such. First off, I'm REALLY jealous that the sisters get to stay out till 11... WE HAVETA BE HOME AT 8 :( The fourth of july is my favorite holiday, we all know how much I love fireworks... but its fine:) I think being obedient is more important than seein the fireworks :) It will be weird not being there w/ ya'll for the fourth! I hope you have tons of fun get me some candy from the bumpin parade :) haha

WEll, like I said, this week FLEW. Last monday we had a suppa fun party for Elder Scribners bday, he goes home next wednesday, which will be reallll sad cause he's the funniest guy in the world. AFTER, I went to Tampa 4 with my future roommate sister bowe. She is the best. We always have SO much fun together, and she teaches me ALOT.

 

We had lots of less active visits this week, and they are going great!! We had an AWESOME lesson w/ unique last night!!(Tashanda was gone, so it was just her) We taught the plan of salvation (my FAVORITE lesson to teach) and the Spirit was so strong. Beth (my bff who is going on her mission to Boise in august) came with us.At the end of the lesson, Unique basically shared an experience/bore her testimony to us about how both praying and reading the scriptures everyday are so important and that she has found answers to her prayers in the scriptures. Both her and Ta'Shanda are progressing SO much. I love them!! We are having FHE w/ them at a members house tonight... I'M PUMPED :) I love them SO MUCH!!!

 

Things are going great!! I LOVE it here, I love sister Goodman, its wonderful!!! The one picture is of us both...

Scary Sunday Night!!!

Well Hello hello :)

 

So.... Thought I would start out w/ a scary story.... Seriously the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. It all started last night, at 11:56 when I woke up to a knock at the door. I sat up in bed when all of the sudden, there was another knock. AH. At this point Sis. Goodman is still out cold. I walk down the hallway to peek around the corner to make sure the door is locked, which it is, then notice the blinds arent shut (we have a HUGE sliding door w/ blinds) So I start walking over to close the blinds, when i hear rattling behind the door... doorknob moving and all. LIKE SOMEONE IS TRYING TO GET IN. I ran the fastest that I've ever ran in my life... turn on the lights, but Sister Goodman is still out cold. So I sit in my bed for about two seconds FREAKING OUT trying to decide if I'm making this all up in my head (it's midnight, im tired). Then, I finally wake her up. We go close the blinds together and say a prayer and sing hymns. I'm still scared outta my mind, so she comforts me like the best little companion that she is :) I love her! After about an hour and a half, I finally fall asleep. So this mornin, we wake up and there's a note... from our neighbor. I left the keys in the door, and she was trying to return them.... OOOOOPS. hahahha So all that scaredness for nothing. OOOOPSADAISY!! haha

 

So, now that that horrific story is over, Let me tell you about this glorious week! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!! Did ya'll see the Broadcast last night?!?! Talk about MEMBER MISSIONARIES!! So exciting!! Missionaries getta use FaceBook?! WHAT?! It's crazy all the changes that will happen! But it's absolutely GREAT!! I'm so grateful for leaders of the church who are inspired by our Father in Heaven! I'm so excited to see all the blessings that will come from this!! Working real close w/ the ward council is exciting and something we've been trying realllll hard to do. YAY! (ps. I would like you to know that when they talked about Tampa, the missionaries in that part were Sister Bowe and Sister Mortensen and that the sacrament meeting with President Patrick... I was there when they filmed it.. if you look real close you can see me in the back right... :))

 

Well, Ta'shanda is really progressing! We had 3 lessons with her this week w/ members and a couple of lessons w/ just us. The Elders in our ward had a baptism (it was really cool, a recent convert baptized his best friend) and TaShanda got to come to that, she LOVED it. She is so easy to teach, so humble and has SUCH strong faith. She always talks about how this church does things "the right way"- which she means by the Priesthood. I love her :) Our date for her baptism is scheduled for the 6th of July! We are so excited for her!! She's the best!

 

We found a family of four this week!! They are great!! Then we found a cute little older lady named Dottie and her grandson (who has some interesting ideas about religion) that we have a return appointment with tonight!! We went tracting on like the best road in America I'm pretty sure. Seriously. EVERY single house had like the NICEST people ever. We knocked on one door and was talking to this SUPER nice guy, his little girl named Maycee (4 years old) came out. She grabbed my hand and whispered "Hey, I needta tell you something... I love you.".... SO STINKING CUTE HUH?!?! I raced with her down the hill a couple of times while Sis. Goodman talked to the dad. We have a return appointment with them too!!! I'm SUPER excited. They are a super super great family!!

 

The Lord is leading us to people who have been prepared. I know that He is SO very aware of His children, and that means that He's aware of you and me :) I know He is. I love Him! and I love you!! :)

 

Well thats bout it, we are havin a Bday party today for Elder Scribner! That should be REAL fun! Then I'm going to Tampa 4 on exchanges w/ sister Bowe!! I dont wanna leave Sister Goodman though, haha its funny. I LOVE HER SO MUCH!!!

Baptismal dates and Rainstorms‏

soooooo...... This week was STELLER.

 

First off, Thursday was nuts. Sis. Goodman and I woke up to our weather radio alarm thing going off at FOUR THIRTY in the AM with a TORNADO WARNING. It told us to go into an interior room w/o windows so, we took our blankies and went on into the closet and slept in their hahaha (come to find out later that we didnt have to do that... the elders made fun of us, oops, at least we were safe! ha). Then we had to stay inside ALL day because of all of these tornado warnings going on... So, we had a little "girls night". We ordered pizza and watched "The District" ha- missionary reality TV... doesnt get much better than that :) HA. I love Sister Goodman! 

Then yesterday we road our bikes and it was going all great, just about to start tracting... when all of the sudden out of no where comes a CRAZY rain storm... it DUMPS out here. It's awesome. anyways, so we are on our bikes and it starts thundering REAL loud (we all know how i feel about thunder...) and then lighting... and we arent supposed to be out when it's lightning here cause its suppa bad here... like Tampa is the #1 place in the nation of deaths by lightning... (comforting huh?) . SO we road our bikes in the POURING rain to a members house and dried off their- the Matthews (the one that reminds me of Gpa young). He made us hott apple cider and soup! he's the sweetest guy! then it was over and we were on our merry way!

 

Enough of the weather report, Lets get to the good stuff!! :)

 

sooooo Monday night we did lesson one with Ta'shanda (23) her daughter La'Niyah (6), Ta'shanda's cousins Unique (19) and Sameron (12). The lesson was out in a field and their was all this commotion and nonsense (her brother hit one of the cars in the driveway, dogs were barking) during the whole lesson, but as soon as we started telling the First Vision, everything was quiet, adn the Spirit was SO strong. All 3 girls committed to be baptized!! It was the happiest I've ever felt in my entire life! Sameron is on her way to Ohio today, to be w/ her dad for the summer, but wants to get baptized when she gets back. Both her and Ta'shanda came to church yesterday!!! IT WAS GLORIOUS... my first time having investigators at church!!! Oh, it was great! They loved it! Sam LOVED young womens!

 

then we taught them The Plan of Salvation last night... that's my favorite lesson! I love love love love Heavenly Father's plan, and I'm realizing what a blessing it is to be able to know it- and how important it is to share it w/ EVERYONE... imagine not knowing what we know about where we came from or where we were going. I LOVE THE PLAN OF SALVATION!!!

 

So yeah, basically this week was STELLAR. I love Sister Goodman. We have been working so hard. I know we will continue to find people to teach that are prepared as long as we keep doing what we're supposed to!

TEXAS?! WITHOUT ME?! WHAT THE HECK!! I'm all little mad, but I'll get over it :) No, I'm excited for ya'll!! I met a couple in the Tampa 4 ward who moved from Dallas. It was PDay and I was wearin my American Leauge Champs shirt... They freaked out. they are HUGE Ranger fans:) she gave me a rangers towel;) haha I thought of you dad!

Mom! Last week of school for ya'll! I bet your super busy!! and you haveta speak in church?? thats always nerve racking. I think I know how you feel, because I inheritied that trait from you. Speaking isnt my favorite thing to do either. But you will do SOOO good!! Remember to bring tissues;)

Jake! Almost done with your first year of high school?! SO exciting!!! your getting too big... its wierd.

BLAKE!! YOU GOT HIT BY A CAR?!?! on your bike?! you and sis. Bowe are twins :) I'm glad you are okay!! thats really scary!! I think you're right, you are definitely being watched over :) I love you!

Well well well, this week was WONDERFUL!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Sister Goodman. We have been working SO hard. SO HARD, trying our hardest not to waste one minute of the Lord's time.

and guess what?......

I LOVE TRACTING these days. We are having SO MUCH FUN while we work. We are finding MIRACLES every single day. we found SIX new investigators this week!

We recommitted Louie and Audrey to take the lessons

We found Louise who let us come in and teach her the first lesson. She committed to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it.

We found sweet miss Jan who let us leave the Savior's Peace and Blessing w/ her. She also committed to read the Book of Mormon and pray.

 

Yesterday is when the big miracle happened (I've been doing a fairly large share of happy dances) :)

     So, we tracted an entire street. No one was letting us in, And they were a little less then mean.... But, Heavenly Father led us to that road and He ALWAYS provides a way. So, as we are walking back to our car we see a mom and her daughter on a walk. We tell her who we are and ask if she knows anyone who would be interested. She says "Ya, me and my family".  Uh.... YAY! :) so we walk down with her (Ta'Shanda) and her cute little 7 year old daughter (La'Niyah) to their home. We left the Saviors Peace and Blessing with them (a special prayer we leave as representatives of Jesus Christ). They loved the feeling they had as we left that prayer. They felt the Spirit and wanted us to come back TONIGHT!! So, we are going to teach them lesson one tonight and plan to set a baptismal date with them!! SHe is inviting her gma and her sister too!!! Heavenly Father is preparing these people that we are meeting, and it is WONDERFUL to see. We arent doing anything special, just doing what He sent us here to do, and He is providing us with MIRACLES! I LOVE being a missionary!!!

Well hi there sweet family!! :)

 

Sorry my email is sooo late. Monday the library was closed, and yesterday was super busy, introducing my new companion to the area. My new sweet little "daughter." Yeah, I'm training. AHHHH! I have never felt so inadequete in my life. Ever. I feel like I just got here and am learning everything myself, how am I supposed to teach someone else, ya know? But what a better time than now to learn to fully rely on my Heavenly Father, right?  Right. OH BOY i'm scared out of my mind, but I know that with His help, we can do anything.

 

Lemme tell you about my sweet little companion! Her name is Sister Goodman. She is wonderful. She is 25, from a little town by Park City. She went to BYUI. She is such a hard worker I can already tell! We both want to be so so so exactly obedient, because we know that's the only way to be able to do all the things Heavenly Father wants us to do. I know if we are obedient and are working hard that the Lord will bless us, and that's what I'm relying on right now cause I feel like it's all I got;)

 

OH OH! We have a baptismal date w/ sister Taylor. Did i tell you that already? her hubby is a member. We got to invite her to be baptized last monday evening in a lesson w/ Bishop. IT WAS SO COOL! The Spirit was so so so very strong, it was awesome :) I love being a missionary!!

 

I feel a little overwhelmed and scared, but I know that everything's gonna be just fine. We are going to sweep this area w/ missionary work. EVERYONE IS GOING TO HEAR THE GOSPEL :)

Hi!!!

Hello All :) Have I told you lately how much I love you? Well here it goes... I LOVE YOU!!! :)

Sorry I dont have ANY time to respond to your individual emails this week. Imma loser, i know.

 

This week was so good!! Exchanges with sister Bowe were the BOMB. I love her SO stinking much. While we were riding our bikes, someone stopped us and asked why we were so happy "OH SIR, Lemme tell you!!" :)  and then we had a whole lesson w/ him! Isn't that cool?! I love the HAPPINESS the gospel brings. Joy- that's what I've been studying this week.

 

Well, I lost my scriptures yesterday :( but dont fret, I will find them. I feel like part of me is gone w/o them. Theyre like part of my outfits now. I need em!

 

OH BOY OH BOY! we set a baptismal date with a new investigator we found, Steven. We might haveta hand him off to the Singles Ward Elders, but that okay. I am PUMPED.

We found another new investigator this week. Her hubby is a less active. She agreed to be baptized if she finds out if the Book of Mormon is true- (which it is so we're square) :). However, they are moving to North Carolina this week... so that kinda stinks. Us and the Elders have been helping them pack and move alot this last week. I love service. We are gonna try to set a baptismal date w/ her tonighters!! 

 

OH!! ANNNND two of the less active ladies we have been working w/ came to church!! HOLLA!! :) It twas great!! 

 

We had a zone Pday bbq today. It twas a partay. I love sis bowe and Mortensen. and the elders CRACK ME UP. It was fun!!!  

 

I seriously have like no time we have an appointment in like ten minutes. Transfers calls are on Saturday. Sister Williamson goes home on Tuesday :( so we will see what happens w/ Sis Daniels and I. I'm excited to see what Heavenly Father has instore!! I love you all so so so much!

 

Oh Jaws tells me the recital is this weekend, do me a favor and go for me mom?! Give Jaws a big hug for me :)

Happy Monday!!!

Mom, First off. I owe you the biggest apology in the world.

 

Yesterday was Mother's Day. We skyped, and I didnt even wish you a happy Mother's day. WHO AM I?! The biggest jerk in the nation, that's who. SERIOUSLY. What was I thinking?! Ha. I think I was just so excited to see and talk to ya'll that I totally spaced it. So, Happy LATE Mother's Day Mother dear. I love you SO much. I hope you got my card. I also hope you know how much I really do look up to you. I always talk about you and all the things you have taught me; probably w/o even knowing it. You are the best mom and example I could ask for. And my very best friend. I LOVE YOU!!

 

Yesterday at church a Brother in the ward told me "happy FUTURE Mother's day". How sweet huh?! Ha. It got me all excited to be a momma. I know the things I am learning here will help me to be the momma that Heavenly Father needs me to be.

 

Hmmm... What else? (steak and shake) haha. I dont know what to say it's like we just talked... OH WAIT. We did :) Can I just tell you how GLORIOUS it was to see you all?! I love you SO much. I know I've told you this before, but I think the mission has made me like crazy obsessed with my family. Like I loved ya'll before I left dont get me wrong, but the love I have for you now has like quadroopled. I hope that doesnt sound creepy? Sorry. :)

 

I get to go to Tampa for exchanges today!! With Sister Bowe!!  HOLLA :) I'm super duper pumped!! :)

 

 

I love you all so SO SO very much. I actually have some time, SO I am going to bear you my testimony :)

 

I know that I am a Daughter of Heavenly Father. That He loves me, and is very very aware of me and of my heart. I know that I can go to Him anywhere, anytime in prayer and that He will answer them. I know that Christ lives, that He loves us more than we can comprehend. I know that He has felt every thing we have and will go through, big and small, and that if we turn to Him, we can get through anything. In His strength, I can do anything, but without Him, I cant really do anything. I love Him. I know the Atonement is real and that it's cleansing power is so so so real. I have felt it. He is the way. This is His Church, restored through a living prophet. I took a challenge last week to re-pray to know if the Book of Mormon was true. Guess what? It is. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that this is Christ's true Church and the ultimate source of happiness. I know that families are ordained of our Heavenly Father, that He wants us all to come home to Him in our families. I love this gospel!! I love you all :)

Monday- Spirit ball was a blast actually. Sister Bowe and I giggled the whole time. She's the best and I love her and her companion Sister Mortensen.  

Tuesday we had a Sister's Training Meeting. It was pretty much the best day ever. It was SO fun to be back in our tri (Sister Bowe, Beck, and I). I get to see sister Bowe all the time, but it makes my day every time. She's my best friend out here! We've talked about roomin together when we get home!! HOLLA!! :)

Wednesday- Oh boy, the sweet couple (Matthews) that I talk about all the time that riming me of gma and gpa young, she had a stroke :(. But she's doing better!!! So that’s good!!! She is the one with Alzheimer’s.... yeah I still cant spell. It was a good day though!! We had dinner w/ a less active family. He is really sick and going to die soon :( we are trying to get them sealed!!! They are great. I went on splits with one of the sister's in our ward and we found a potential investigator who wants us to come back by tracting!!! If we act in faith (even though I don’t care for tracting...at all), Heavenly Father will provide :) 

Thursday- lunch w/ a less active couple. They are wonderful!! They jus went to Salt Lake and were showing us all their pictures. He calls me the Potato girl :) ha. IT

Friday we went on splits with my new best friend. Her name is Beth and she just got home from BYU for the summer. We're like exactly the same age. She's AWESOME. We get along WAY good! She should get her call this week!! I LOVE THIS WARD!!

Saturday was great!! We found a former investigator who scheduled a return appointment with us for Sunday!!! So that's super great!! We found a Spanish member-family who fed us lunch cause we were biking- how sweet huh?! These people are honestly the best. They gave us a referral too! :) Then we found the cutest little less active lady. Her grandkids are all adopted (from China and Ethiopia... They are precious)  so I got to tell her all about Huey and Ky and cry of course :) ha. 

Sunday was good!! went on splits again w/ Beth. I love her. Ha I love it here!!! 

CHICK FIL A twice this week!!! It was like Christmas :) thank you grandma Jocko for the gift cards :)

ASK ME HOW EXCITED I AM TO SKYPE WITH YOU!!!!! HOLY MOLY HOLY COW!!!! Sunday is the day!!!! Our Church gets out at two and then we're heading over to members... It'll prolly be around 3 our time, which I believe is one yours. Maybe? I will call Saturday night to fill you in on all the details and make sure that will work for ya'll :) I CAN HARDLY STAND HOW EXCITED I AM TO SEE YOUR FACES!!! :)

I love you SOOOO much!! I'm doing good! Changing and learning! It's good :) ha. Missions are hard, but I love it here and I love these people, and I love my Savior! I love you too :) I know this is His church, and I love teaching people about it, seeing them change and grow too :)
